A little insight into the thoughts, laughter, tears and joy of a slightly insane Scots woman
Today at work i really had to laugh. working in a large telecommunications company dealing with members of the public brings different things every day, even if the problems are the same hour after hour
Two things today really made me almost pee mmyself with laughter, not because of the inconvenience caused (my sympathies go out to the people involved) but just because of the sheer dafteness of the problems. One was a woman had gone away on holiday for two weeks only to come back and find a whacking great pole stuck in her front garden.. whether it belonged to the company i work for or not i never got to find out but just the thought of coming back from holiday and finding a 25 foot pole in your front lawn makes me laugh at the sheer gall of whoever put it there
the second thing was a customer had been connected and having had really old wiring installed from previous owners of the house the installation lacked certain items.. i.e screws, so the engineer had used stickyback plastic to adheer the box to the wall... obviously sticky stuff will eventually become not so sticky and the box fell off the wall and another engineer was dispatched to refix said box to the wall. only the customer ended up with a charge for the work done. ludicrous i know but just the thought of Blue Peter style sticky back plastic being used to hold something essential for the use of a telephone in this day and age made me almost pee myself with laughter..
Obviously i sorted the charges out for the customer and fixed things without screws or sticky back plastic..
If you have the need to call your telephone provider due to a fault, please remember it is people like me who sit on the other end of the telephone
Although i really dont mind being used as a verbal punching bag if it is really necessary and justified but to call up and say your phone has been off for half an hour and still isnt fixed then go off on one is really a bit much sometimes.. Please note too that we are what we say we are and thats a PHONE company.. we dont fix televisions, washing machines, replace the logs from gas fires or any electrical related problems, even if it does say to call us if you are a residential customer.. BUT if your phone is faulty we will do our best to help you
Another point i would like to make is that the company I deal with is one that deals with lines and phones on my little island
So if your aunt lives in Timbuctu and her line suddenly cuts off half way through discussing next years holiday then sorry, but i CANT help you!! As much as i would dearly love to run over to Russia and tell Uncle Fred to put his receiver back on the hook, i fond myself unexplicably stuck to my desk and he has to find out its not on the cradle himself
My second job today was quiet and most uneventful, the schools are off in England and will be here too next week for the Easter holiday so it will be very quiet, mostly sitting around playing bookworm on Yahoo i think..
Spring looks like it is finally here and once again i can stand for two mins at lunch in the sunshine and 15 degrees
Soon be Summer!!

Not many times am i lost for words but this time, at least, i think the words of someone else say it best. The candle burning here and on my homepage is for the soul that never had the chance to see one for real.

They Say Love is Blind
They say love is blind and you made this true.
I never got to place you in a outfit either pink or blue.
Never rocked you in my arms as you quietly slept.
Not one tear did i get to dry as you sadly wept.
I loved you none the less with all of my heart.
My world crashing down when we were torn apart.
I dream of you wrapped in a blanket of a white angel wing.
The lullaby you hear is the comfort I wanted to bring.
I still hold you everyday the only way i know how.
God doesn't take my love for you this much he does allow.
It is as stong as it would have been if I would have seen you.
After my journey in life is done I will carry my love through.
It will carry me straight to you, you will never be hard to find.
We will be together and I will hold the love that was blind.
Looking into eyes that are mine that show a soul I made.
I will place you upon my chest where you always should have laid.
They say love is blind and you made this come true.
I will place you in an outfit either pink or blue.
I will rock you in my arms as you quietly sleep.
I will dry your tears as you happily weep.

Yesterday we drove up to a little place called Portsoy about an hour away from here, and then on to Lossiemouth to watch the RAF training a little over the beach. Noisy but cool to watch
The weather over the past couple of days has been really mild and with hardly any wind almost summer like
so i decided to give my website a bit of a makeover and go along the lines of the coming season, of course now i have done it we will get rain, rain and a little more rain for the summer
Tomorrow i dont know what we are doing but it is my last day off work for a while so a long lay and lots of laziness is in order i think
.
Just a little to show i am still breathing

And now it was Thursday already.. Don't know where the time goes when i'm not looking.
Saturday afternoon we got a call from the dog charity saying they couldnt make it out to do the ckeck on us but she was satisfied by what she had heard from me when we had talked on the phone and it was ok if we wanted to go and have a look at the puppies. We did and came home £55 lighter and with a little pup we have called Raffles
. We called him that because he seemed a kind of 'gentleman rogue' and so far he has totally lived up to his name..
Saturday night he howled the place down and by 4am had gone from being called 'poor wee puppy' at 1am, 2am and 3am to 'ducking fog!' at 4am..
Needless to say by 1am on sunday night i gave in to Eirik and let the dog in the bedroom.. the howling stopped.. Hmmm.
Anyway he has gone from being a totally shy sweet loving pup to something the aliens decided to punish us with and chews EVERYTHING in sight, from slippers and undies off the clothes horse to the odd magazine we forgot to lift off the floor, he even decided to take the mouse for a walk this morning, yeah, the one for the laptop not a little furry creature..We did get him a chew toy and he does get fed 4 times a day but thats not enough for him.. i think he just decided to con us when we went to see them and pretended to be a sweet cuddly thing.. Hehehe.. Anyway enough said from my point of view he wants a few words of his own

Saturday:
These two humans came to my house and kidnapped me!!!! I only crawled on their laps because my brother and mum and dad were going mental round the room and it was a safe place to keep an eye out where i could launch my next attack from. They took me in this huge roaring thing that made loads of noise and which went really made me feel ill, it was travelling at a horrendous speed and i just had to get rid of the chicke that was in my stomach on way or the other so i regurgitated it ob the floor of the roaring machine on the last corner before we stopped, unfortunately the male humans arm and trousers got in the way and my direct hit on his shoes failed.. have to practise that one i think..
Got to this other house and there wer three smaller humans there, damn do these things breed?? The three smaller ones were ok and were a little strange though, making all kinds of daft noises that sound like 'oooh' and 'awww' To be honest they sounded like cows in pain but im learning fast its a normal noise for a human to make when they see me.. It was ok for a little while and after a good meal and laying really cosy on the sofa with the two big humans sleeping like little dogs like me should suddenly i was in a really dark place and all alone!! I shouted and shouted for ages and eventually the female human came down and stroked me a little but she left me again!! In that dark place behind this wire barrier i couldnt get past!! I could hear her footsteps slowly getting fainter so i started shouting again, as loud as i could and for hours but no one came to help me!! Finally i gave up and a little while later i heard footsteps again and i was let out in the wet windy place they call 'out'.
I was so tired from shouting all night i couldnt do anything all day but sleep on the sofa and only raising enough energy to go eat some food before flaking out cold on the sofa again. Sunday night the same thing happened!! Once again i was left in the dark and i shouted and shouted and after a while the female ame down and ut this really annoying thing in that played some awful music and i didnt like it one bit when she left again! I shouted and shouted and eventually, when i believe it was 1am (the female said 'bloody hell pup its one in the morning!'), i was taken up this huge hill and into another place called the 'bedroom' where i was put into an old moses basket with a blanket and towel and told to 'go to sleep'. Which i did obligingly of course.
Monday i decided i had to start acting like my old self and started running around like a crazy thing again, it was great fun just to run past something and grab it in my teeth and keep running, you should have seen the humans jump up and chase after me!!
This morning though the female got a little cross after i pulled a wire out of the laptop and dragged this mouse thingy over the living room floor.. well its a mouse! Its supposed to run!! No?

Saturday night i had had a bit of an accident and fell over in it in the dark and of course because it was on my shoulder i couldnt clean it off, who would want to anyway? So sunday morning i found myself in the big grey thing they wash the dishes in and had water poured al over me and this soapy stuff rubbed in.. yeuch!! I smelled a lot nicer after though.

Today i have settled in just fine to my new home, i guess i'm not going to see my mum and dad any more or any of my brothers and sisters..
Still i guess it's not so bad here, good food and a warm cosy bed and more cuddles than i could ask for
